We have come to believe that if you really are in love, that will last forever, we will always have those wonderful feelings. Nothing can separate us. Unfortunately, to think that the experience of falling in love is eternal is nothing but fiction, not reality. Not that we are not true to what we think or feel, we are just not realistic. Once the experience happens, we return to the real world and we will be ourselves. Now the waves of reality begin to separate us.
The good news, our most basic emotional need is not to fall in love, it's to be truly loved by another, know a love that springs from reason and choice, not instinct. Love that combines reason and emotion. It involves an act of will and requires discipline.
